Enterprise Structured Data Cabling Manchester
Embark on our enterprise structured data cabling courses in Manchester area. This is your opportunity to secure the vital vocational qualification, a gateway to the prestigious Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) card.
At Fibre Optics Training, we provide comprehensive and structured data cabling training courses. We meticulously align each course with industry standards, such as those set by the British Standards Institute (BSI), which govern standards like the EN 50173 & EN 50174 series, among others, here in the United Kingdom.
When we teach individuals and organisations, we emphasise the utmost importance of adhering to industry standards, particularly in installation and specification. This is a key aspect of our training that we take very seriously.
We ensure that every delegate gets the most from the course, with our 70/30 split of learning, incorporating 70% hands-on practical simulations and real-world scenarios. Our training facilities in Crewe, Cheshire, enable delegates to make mistakes in a controlled training environment, preparing them for the real world. We don’t believe in sitting at a desk and learn to terminate data cables; the practical scenarios are what would be expected in a real job on-site.
How will I learn?
We, after decades of teaching, introduced blended learning many years ago, because we found that the craft skills needed couldn’t be taught through PowerPoint presentations. We found that learners gained more from the course when it was delivered in a blended learning format, and we have struck the right balance. Ensuring learners get the most out of the course.

Why vocational training is important:
Achieving a vocational award is a standard set by the awarding bodies to be awarded a certificate. Unlike vendor product learning, units of credit are issued by the vocational awarding body to ensure delegates achieve the correct skills, which are industry-specific. Achieving the award means they meet the required standards.
Vocational awards differ from accreditations; they are not the same as vocational awards issued by awarding organisations. The awarding body ensures that the qualifications meet the Office for Qualifications and Examinations (OFQUAL frameworks.) They meet employers and industry standards, whereas accreditation does not meet the framework.
Not all qualifications are the same; some awarding organisations issue what they call self-regulated qualifications (SRQs), which differ and are designed to be very similar to accreditations. However, they are essentially certificates issued for attendance and not mapped against the OFQUAL framework for levels 2, 3, or 4. Hence, vocational qualifications hold more weight than SRQ or accreditations, and they also allow you to progress to higher education.
What is the career path I can take?
Whether you are new or have some experience, choosing the correct level of course is vital; a level 2 is mainly the entrance level. however, if you have some experience, then you can select a level 3, which delves deeper into the structured cabling and then progress on to fibre installation, which is a good career path and fibre optics is the backbone in every enterprise, structured cabling network, testing and then design and planning.
